1,168ft Out of My Comfort Zone

Have you ever done something that completely terrified you?
I can't lie, a big fear of mine is heights. It's not a phobia that I can't and won't face; I don't get severe anxiety or panic attacks over heights, I just really don't like them - sort of an uneasy feeling I guess. I think most people feel that way about being up high whether it's the top floor of a very tall building, a roller coaster, the top of a ferris wheel, or just looking up at a tall building from the ground. I won't say everyone, but a lot of people get that feeling of their stomach turning inside out.
This weekend I definitely felt like I conquered that fear of heights, and it was such a good experience that I was almost, dare I say, comfortable?
In the same fear-smashing experience, I also joined a group of Guinness World Record holders for the worlds highest, full circle, wide open (no railings), hands-free walk. Crazy right?
The CN Tower Edge Walk may not be for the faint of heart, but I can honestly say it was a fear worth tackling in order to go through with this amazing experience.
I want to take a second to thank the staff at the Edge Walk who were not only knowledgeable, but super encouraging, fun, and outgoing. They brought the comfort level, and the hype throughout the entire experience.
Safety was obviously a big worry of mine going into it, however the second we entered the "base camp" room, we got a good understanding of how seriously they take safety. From a breathalyzer, to a full pat down for any loose jewelry or odds and ends that could fall, they covered every single safety concern I could imagine.

Once at the top, after a super uneasy elevator ride WITH a glass floor, we were again reassured of our safety, and they explained every single rope and harness that they attached.
The guides then walked our group out to the edge of the tower. Armed with a GoPro and a tethered digital camera, the guide at the front captured our walk and included it with our experience purchase!
The activities on the walk definitely challenged my confidence, but by the end I was comfortable enough to "hang out" for an "edgy" photoshoot. Puns definitely intended.
Once I fully realized there was NO chance I was going to fall, it became super exhilarating and I wouldn't trade this experience for anything. It was amazing to say the least and if you haven't tried the CN Tower Edge Walk yet, take my advice and give it a try! It was worth every single penny and I would definitely do it again!
